Globalista is a new site with travel reports on over 100 destinations. To access pdf reports you can pay either a £30 one-off fee or pay an annual fee of £150 (introductory offer).
The site is smart and neatly laid out. There is a trial report on Damascus available online.
It is an interesting site, but I am not entirely sure who Globalista is aimed at. A lot of websites have tried and failed to charge for web content and £150 annually is a huge amount of money to pay. The Damascus report is just over 4,000 words, so a fraction of the size of a guide book.
In my experience, the kind of people who travel to Gstaad aren’t necessarily the kind of people who will want to download and print out a pdf guide. It will be interesting to see how it develops.
